This is how I feel right now:

"Everyone just leave me the hell alone!"

Okay, maybe I'm just trying to find an excuse to post more Cherrybomb pictures (lookey here for more beauties). But seriously guys, I just want to sit in my room for 3 days, sleeping, drinking tea, and watching DVDs. I feel like crap, sick, and don't even want to think of the 3+ papers I have due in the next few weeks. Urrrg
I love the huge sweater I'm wearing in the above pics. It's so comfy and snuggly, and it kind of reminds me of this picture from Hel-looks. I'm starting to think all my outfits are a subconcious imitation of something I've seen on Hel-looks at one point or another. No points for originality, but I still think that sweater is rad.
My brain is just mush right now guys, so feast on this heavenly image and sit tight while I regain my sanity...

Where is my mind?

I haven't got much to post these days, but I think that's all going to change now that I've started watching My So-Called Life. After I put on my pure 90's outfit (read: biker shorts and Hulk Hogan sleeveless tee), I snuggled in to watch the very first episode. Seriously guys, there are waaaaaaaay too many hot outfits in this show. Not to mention the great storylines, realistic dialogue, and CLAIRE DANES who is just amazing and too charming for words. Behold:
Rayanne and Angela (Claire Danes) pre-hair dye.

Post-dye job. I'm loving the red bob, and look at Ricky's (guy in the middle) shirt! The print is blowing my minnnnnd!

Incase you didn't know (shame on you!) the incredibly sexy Jared Leto is in this series. Yup, it's true. His character has a thing about closing his eyes all the time.... I'm not complaining, he looks super mysterious and pensive. Mmmmmm

Gotta love 90's layering.

I couldn't make a descent screencap of this dress but trust me, it's ace. The print is like those black and white notebooks that people always have in movies (and nobody has in real life. YOU KNOW WHAT I"M TALKING ABOUT!) with a skater-skirt cut bottom. Nice.

Even after she fell in the mud in this dress (I cried a little), she still looks ferosh.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Plaid galore, I mean, the show is from 1994. What do you expect??
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Clearly the piece de resistance, a RUFFLED PLAID BRA/CROP TOP SITUATION!!! Whoa, new favourite show y'all. I needs me one of them.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Even Angela is envious of her little sis's florals...
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Wooooo, party outfit time! Sneaking out to go to da rave, badass y'all!

Dunno, just like this shot :)
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Ricky's haircut is boss. Sometimes I wish I had frizzy, curly hair... mines naturally straight
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
What's not to love about all this body-con goodness??
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Even the "nerd" in this show is kinda hot. I'm just sayin'...
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Tanks and denim vests, can't go wrong here.

20 pictures later and I'm only on the FIRST EPISODE Y'ALL! Will post some more faves as I get to the next 18.... wow, that's a lot! I'm used to watching UK series which only have around 8 to 10 half hour episodes. Well, I better get crackin!

ps- Sorry for the abuse of the word "y'all" in this post... I couldn't help myself.

Zookeeper's boy

Outfit from... sometime this week? I don't know. Pictures float around in my camera for way too long.

I'm pretty sure this was what I was thinking when the self timer went off:

Love these shoes too much to care. S'okay, you can admit they do look big.

The other DIY I did last Friday... basically a slight variation on my fringe top: the fringe scarf. WOAH, HOLD UP THIS SHIZ JUST GOT CARAYZEEEE!

Made from t-shirt like fabric, I used a black sheet that I bought for another project a while back. If you want to make a scarf like this, you could use 2 large black t-shirts. Here's the really basic tutorial of how to make this big and beautiful slice of heaven...

Take your 2 shirts and cut off the sleeves and collar area. The goal here is to make the biggest, most evenly shaped square possible. Also cut ONE AND ONLY ONE side edge, so it unfolds to make a large rectangle

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Take your 2 rectangles and lay one on top of the other and sew a straight stitch down the edge. Remember to double up on the ends to re-enforce the stich.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Lay the rectangle down flat, and use chalk to mark out 2 curves lines, like so. Cut along the line on the bottom, making sure the 2 pieces of fabric are lying flat so that they'll be even when you open it up at the end.

Mark out some verticle lines to help you keep your fringe straight when you start cutting them. Cut the fringe carefully through both layers, so you can finish faster, and don't cut past your marked out line. Make each fringe about half an inch in width.

Before you open it up to behold your masterpiece, give all the fringe a little pull. The fabric will curl in on itself, making each fringe more stringy. Cool, huh? Okay now you can unfold it and WERQ!!

Can't even wear stuff like this yet, as it has pretty much been 3o degrees every day this week. Ridiculous. My cardigans will just have to wait a bit longer...

Twenty-two grand job in the city

On Friday night I completed not one, but TWO DIY projects. Friday night? Yes. That's what I do on weekends. I bust out the sewing machine and scissors, and just go mental.
I have literally had this idea in my head for about 6 months, always finding some excuse to not actually DO it. Once I had all the materials it took about 10 minutes to do. 6 months of planning coming down to less time it takes me to get my daily Arthur fix. Yup, that sounds like me.

Did you hear? The disgusted look is sooooo in right now.

What I should have been doing instead of backyard photoshoots.

The clear plastic I used to make the pocket was in the remnants bin at Fabricland (buy 1, get 2 free! Wootwoot), the tank I got from Zellers menswear (C'mon, you didn't think I made that did you? My skillz are quite limited...), and the frames are from some old sunglasses that I popped the lenses out of. 10 dollah project, high fives! I know this tee isn't the most original thing eva, but I was just dying to make it.

And while I'm showing you my homemade creations, I might as well introduce you to my 5 kids.

I require them to dress in unison at all times. Kind of like The Sound of Music but more intergalactic. They're gorgeous, aren't they? You may be wondering who the father is. Oh, here's my husbee now!

Madonna tee, a horse head mask, and ridiculouslycool-I'msojelousneedthoserightnow shades?
I love you.

Silence is easy

Urrrg... okay guys, it's official:
I don't know how to take pictures

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is only glimpse you'll get of today's ghetto fabulous oufit. I took about 294792 pictures and still they are all ug-mo. Ahh, what happened to my 15 year old body??! Where'd it go??

Note to self: Must go to gym

Another note to self: Must find better places to take pictures than my dark and cluttered bedroom...

Dance into the speakers and max up the volume

I know the first day of school is supposed to be a big deal. New school supplies, neatly packing a brown bag lunch, leaving extra early to be sure your on time. Well, none of this really applies to me. I was excited to get back to uni, but to tell you the truth it doesn't feel like it's been 4 months since I've last been in a lecture. I must have been because I was in England for half the summer, not sitting at home painfully waiting for classes to start up again.
Yup, I'm quite glad to be back. Back to putting an ounce of thought into outifts and looking forward to do some insane layering with the ridiculous amount of sweaters I've got in my closet right now (seriously, I just realized that half my closet consists of sweaters and cardigans. Who knew I was such a granny...). Of course, since today was the first day and all, I'm not really warmed up in the whole "putting a brilliant outfit together on a schedule", so I gave myself a whole 5 minutes to throw something on. As you can see, the results are quite earth shattering: ripped high waisted jeans and a knit top. I know what your thinking, this woman is a maverick of style and cultural shapeshifter. All I can say is, I know. Don't be jelz.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
What's the point in being a fake punk with pre-shredded jeans if no one can even see the rips? See? Rips! Another great leap in stylistic acheivement!

Perhaps I shall have some even MORE complex and original outifts to share with you in the future... if that is even humanly possible.

Life in plastic: it's fantastic!

While all the cool bloggers are off in New York at the Weardrobe conference, living it up and soaking up eachother's awesomeness, I'm sitting at home babysitting, buying school books, and watching Mean Girls for the 28892 time. Oh yeah, I pretty much run this town.
Actually, babysitting can be pretty fun. Espesh when I can convince the kids the play Barbies. We all had our own dolls, and the girls all started naming theirs after ~celebs~, HA! There was Baby Spice, Ashley Tisdale, Lady Gaga... and I was Rochelle from The Saturdays, lol!
The 10 year old girl who played with Gaga put together the outfit and everything, I thought it was quite good. I can see Laddy Gaga wear this!

Me, Rochelle from The Sats (the middle one below). Did a little bit of a sailor girl pin-up look. I SOOOOOOOOOOOOO want this floral romper. My Barbie clothes are the best.
