Zookeeper's boy

Outfit from... sometime this week? I don't know. Pictures float around in my camera for way too long.

I'm pretty sure this was what I was thinking when the self timer went off:

Love these shoes too much to care. S'okay, you can admit they do look big.

The other DIY I did last Friday... basically a slight variation on my fringe top: the fringe scarf. WOAH, HOLD UP THIS SHIZ JUST GOT CARAYZEEEE!

Made from t-shirt like fabric, I used a black sheet that I bought for another project a while back. If you want to make a scarf like this, you could use 2 large black t-shirts. Here's the really basic tutorial of how to make this big and beautiful slice of heaven...

Take your 2 shirts and cut off the sleeves and collar area. The goal here is to make the biggest, most evenly shaped square possible. Also cut ONE AND ONLY ONE side edge, so it unfolds to make a large rectangle

Take your 2 rectangles and lay one on top of the other and sew a straight stitch down the edge. Remember to double up on the ends to re-enforce the stich.

Lay the rectangle down flat, and use chalk to mark out 2 curves lines, like so. Cut along the line on the bottom, making sure the 2 pieces of fabric are lying flat so that they'll be even when you open it up at the end.

Mark out some verticle lines to help you keep your fringe straight when you start cutting them. Cut the fringe carefully through both layers, so you can finish faster, and don't cut past your marked out line. Make each fringe about half an inch in width.

Before you open it up to behold your masterpiece, give all the fringe a little pull. The fabric will curl in on itself, making each fringe more stringy. Cool, huh? Okay now you can unfold it and WERQ!!

Can't even wear stuff like this yet, as it has pretty much been 3o degrees every day this week. Ridiculous. My cardigans will just have to wait a bit longer...
