I Pulled a Rumi... Twice!

Last week I bought shoes at Aldo that I had seen on Fashion Toast. I really liked them a lot but the purchase was spur of the moment as the store was closing and I was desperate to use up my gift card. The shoes I'm referring to are the black patent Velcro heels below:

Anyways, when I got home and walked around a bit in them I decided that they weren't for me. I went over to aldoshoes.com and found another pair that I'd seen... guess where.... yes, again on Rumi! Well, at the risk of being a copy-cat I bought these amazing curved heeled shoes online that very evening and returned the other ones the next day. I got my new ones in the mail yesterday and I'm very glad I made the switch, I love them ten times more and I'm sure I'll get more wear out of them because of their sturdy heel.

Who doesn't love colours?

I've really been wanting to update my tights collection lately, so I ordered some fun knee-highs from We Love Colors. Some people might compare We Love Colors to American Apparel with they're dance wear, basics, and stock depicting every colour of the rainbow. WLC does have some things, like prints and patterns, that AA does not have. They even have tights in men's sizes!(guys in tights... I don't hate it!)

I decided to get one pair of tie-dye knee highs (theres a tongue twister) and two pairs of striped knee highs.

Mother's Day

On Sunday my family and I stopped at my Grandparents house for Mother's day.
We took some pictures on their farm, along with their miniature pincher.

Fake Jeans

Unlike Susie, I have no problem wearing or finding jeans. I wear them all the time, yet lately I've been backing away from them. There's only a limited amount of styles and combinations for jeans, unless that's just me being very unimaginative, so trying more skirts/dresses/tights combos definitely opens a lot of doors for outfit opportunities.
For those who are slowly backing away from their denim staples, I give you FAKE jeans. I've been seeing these leggings and tights with printed on seams and pockets to make them look like skin-tight jeans.
I saw these leggings on Nasty Gal Vintage and it was love at first sight. But seeing is just about as far as I can go with these because they're tiny and would never fit me!

I also found these on MyTights while browsing today, also very nice (with a slightly hefty price tag).

Usually I just make anything that I can't get my hands on, but this one might be a bit difficult. This might work if you try stitching fake seams and pockets on some leggings with a few strands of embroidery thread with a large needle. You could even stitch on a little button for the fly!

Ebay Picks

Nothing better to do today but to surf around on Ebay. I found a few new stores I really like and I'm going to start bidding right away!

Muse Studio Vintage has some very cute stuff. Great prices and all very wearable.
That blazer will be mine, an hour left and only at $10!
I'm not sure why, but I'm strangely attracted to this floral mu-mu!

SickThrift has a good selection of shoes, dresses and even swimsuits (if your into secondhand swimwear!).
I'm really lucky today with blazers, this one's amazing! A sheer-sided mini dress would be great for layering, I've been searching for more see-through stuff.

Wish me luck on my bidding!

2 Days in Paris

I just finished watching 2 Days In Paris, a movie I've been dying to see for months now.
Basically, a couple stops in Paris for (you guessed it) 2 days on the way back from a trip to Venice. The woman, Marion (played by Julie Delpy - who also directed and wrote the movie) lived in Paris her whole life but now lives in New York with her boyfriend Jack (Adam Goldberg). During they're visit to the city, Jack meets several of Marion's past lovers and boyfriends as well as discovering some of her dirty little secrets.
The movie was really enjoyable, mostly because of the great script and witty arguments between Marion and Jack. There wasn't a whole lot of fashion inspiration (considering it took place in Paris), but I couldn't help but fall in love with Marion's thick black glasses which she had to wear because she lost her contacts!
